- Welcome to my studio blog! I am a custom cake designer & decorator. I love to play in my kitchen with anything sweet! I took cake decorating classes in high school with a home-business cake designer, and later took Wilton method classes taught by a Wilton decorator. I decided to start a home-business in September 2009. I enjoy experimenting with contemporary designs that capture and cherish traditional methods that taste extraordinary. I started my business, Sweet Contemporary, in February 2010, with hopes of launching a successful bakery in the Virginia Beach area. I am the wife of a Navy sailor, Josh, and the mother of our 2-year old son, Josiah, who will often appear in my studio blog as my personal taste-testers.
